At the end of 2017 I decided I was going to lay the blog posting to rest. I felt vulnerable, I had new changes coming, and I didn't know what to do with the blog next.
Over the past 7 months, I have felt a ringing in my ear that I need to begin this blog again. But what would it become? How should I continue forward?
To answer these questions, let's look back (7 months ago) to 2017.
What a year! During 2017, I spent every day reading my bible in chronological order and praying for my future husband (if I am gifted with such). Now I should be honest with you and say that "every day" is quite the stretch but it was frequent.
I loved 2017. Praying for my future husband encouraged me to think about the things I needed to do to be worthy of a husband that I was asking God for. Reading the bible chronologically was hard but I learned so much about God's character. The best thing I learned is that God never changes. It is a simple fact but one that took me too long to grasp.
2018 has been a harder year than 2017 but there has been so much learning. In 2018, I moved to Lawrence, KS from Manhattan, KS. I felt God leading me here and leading me hard so I obeyed and followed. The job has been a difficult adjustment.
I gained 15 pounds since moving.
I felt distance from my friends.
And I have felt my confidence leak out of me.
It has been hard.
But...
I also graduated with my master's degree! Woo!
I have felt more contentment in my singleness than I ever have before.
With all of these good and hard changes, I have learned so much. I have learned about myself, my God, and the things I need from others. I learned that I love to work in collaboration with people, I love to think and I love to plan. I learned that God uses everything in His time for His glory in His way. I learned that I need respect, trust, and sacrificial love from those around me just as they should expect it from me.
I have gained a new set of lenses that allow me to see the world in a new light.
As I reflect on the 7 months of these changes, I know what I want my blog to be about going forward. I am still On a Mission. I am On a Mission to follow Christ. So I will be sharing with you about my life.
